Social casino game Pebble City launches on Sui blockchain

Pebble City, the social casino title developed by NHN Corporation’s Web3 division, has launched on the Sui blockchain. The mobile-based game offers users a frictionless entry point into web3 gaming, not requiring any prior knowledge of the technology. The game originally launched in beta last year, with its full launch supporting large-scale transactions powered by Sui, with players receiving Casino Membership NFTs.

Pebble City itself is a large, immersive environment in which players can partake of slots in a virtual casino and earn in-game rewards. Players use chips to play, just as they would in a real-world casino, and can earn Stars, which they can redeem at a special room or convert to SBTL tokens. It uses zkLogin and Sui Kiosk to simplify the transaction process for gamers who aren’t familiar with blockchain features.

Ujin Chung, CEO of NHN Corporation, said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to bring Pebble City to life on Sui, combining our experience with game development with Sui’s cutting-edge technology. Our goal has always been to create games that provide meaningful engagement and value to players, and through today’s launch, we’re able to deliver a next-level gaming experience that is built to impress. As blockchain adoption continues to grow, we see this as a pivotal moment to redefine how companies like ours engage with decentralized ecosystems.”

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs, one of the original contributors to Sui, said of the game’s launch, “Pebble City is a great example of the ways Sui can enhance gaming without disrupting the player experience, delivering a real-world application of blockchain technology. By utilizing Sui primitives like zkLogin and Kiosk, the game offers a seamless, engaging, and scalable experience that feels just like traditional gaming but with all the benefits of blockchain ownership, which is what Sui is all about.”
